Weekly Lesson Plans May 19th-23rd
Monday- Binders are due! Students will go over their Physics Review in class. It is not for a grade but a good tool for students to use to study for the final. Students will then start watching October Sky. No homework!
Tuesday- Journals are due! Students will continue to watch October Sky.
Wednesday- Students will continue to watch October Sky.

Weekly Lesson Plans May 12th-16th
Monday- Students will outline Chapter 16 about Sound and Light. Chapter 16 has 4 sections and starts on page 543. Outline is due on Wednesday.
Tuesday- Students will view a light demo and fill out an activity sheet to be turned in at the end of the period. No Homework!
Wednesday- Students will take the Discovery Education Test in the library. No Homework!
Thursday- Students will watch Bill Nye Light and then work on a Physics Review.
Friday- Students will watch Bill Nye Energy to review some concepts from Chapter 13. Then students will continue to work on their Physics Review.
Important Due Dates: Binders are due on Monday May 19th (150pts). Journals #38-50 are due on Tuesday May 20th.

Weekly Lesson Plans May 5th-9th
Monday- Students will trade and grade the Chapter 13 Study Guide and then play the game show review to prepare for the Test Tuesday.
Tuesday- Chapter 13 Test with extra credit.
Wednesday- Students need to bring all of their Physical Science papers from second semester. I will give students a binder order sheet and they will have the entire class period to put their papers in order.
Thursday- Students will continue to work on their Binder. Binders are worth 150points and they are due Monday May 19th.
Friday- BR#50 Observe the mouse trap game and write down three objects and tell me what simple machines they are. Students will learn about Rube Goldberg and Rube Goldberg machines. Homework: Rube Goldberg sheet.

Tuesday- BR # 49 Write the unites for the following: speed, distance, time, acceleration, force, mass, momentum, weight, work, power, mechanical advantage, energy, and efficiency. Students will take notes and have discussion over Chapter 13 S.4. Homework: Chapter 13 S.4 Review pg. 461 #1-9
Wednesday- Chapter 13 Vocab Quiz, Chapter 13 Study Guide due Monday

Wednesday- BR#46 Write down as many examples as you can for incline planes, wedges, and screws. Students complete the power output lab and work on their chapter 13 S.1 concept review worksheet. The power output lab will make students calculate how much work and power they use to go up the stairs slow vs. fast.
Thursday- Students will watch Roller Coaster Physics. Then they will take notes and have discussion over Chapter 13 S.2 Simple Machines. Homework: Ch 13 S.2 Worksheet
Friday- BR#47 How do you think the Egyptians built the pyramids? (what simple machines do you think they used?) Students will participate in a simple machines lab where they find the mechanical advantage of a ramp. Homework:

Tuesday- BR# 41 Read "How do air bags work?" pg. 399 Answer both questions in your journal. Students will take notes and have discussion over Chapter 12 S.1 Forces. Homework- Chapter 12 S.1 Questions that deal with Newton's 1st and 2nd laws and force, mass, acceleration problems.
Wednesday- BR#42 Read Black Holes pg.411 answer question 1 in your journal. Students will have notes and discussion over Chapter 12 S.2 about Gravity. Homework: Worksheet about Newton's 1st and 2nd laws and Gravity.
Thursday- BR #43 Read “Integrating Space Science” on page 404. Use a 58kg person for the weight in your bellringer. Students will explore projectile motion with the Monkey Hunter Lab. Homework: Lab questions.
Friday-BR # 44 Read How Rockets work pg. 416 answer question 1 in your journal. Students will watch several youtube clips about Newton's 1st and 2nd laws dealing with an egg drop demo.
